Τipsy apples

INGREDIENTS
1 bottle dry red wine
1 ½ tbsps SPAROZA mulled wine blend
6 tbsps brown sugar
6 medium apples, peeled and cored
PREPARATION
In a heavy pot bring wine, sugar and SPAROZA blend to a boil. Reduce heat and add apples. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until apples are tender, turning once.
Remove apples and place in a tray covered with baking paper.
Boil mulled wine, uncovered, until liquid is reduced to 1 cup. Strain and pour over apples. Bake in preheated oven at 180° C for 10 minutes or until liquid caramelizes. Tip: sprinkle with grated almonds or walnuts and serve with strained yogurt, ice cream or crème fraiche.
